Tarboosh Middle Eastern Bakery and Grill offers a straightforward dining experience centered around authentic Lebanese and broader Middle Eastern cuisine, right on Dougall Avenue in Windsor. This family-owned spot balances the roles of a bakery and a grill, making it a solid choice for those who appreciate fresh, house-made breads paired with grilled meats and traditional sides.

Walking into Tarboosh, you’ll notice a relaxed, cozy atmosphere with the sort of attentive hospitality that makes a difference for families and repeat locals alike. The layout includes kid-friendly seating with high chairs, reflecting its appeal to visitors bringing children along. Clean washrooms and the friendly presence behind the counter underscore a welcoming, no-frills space that’s more about comfort than style.

The menu centers on Middle Eastern staples with an emphasis on freshness and portion sizes that lean generous. Regulars seem to gravitate toward the various shawarma wraps—both chicken and beef versions—and the falafel, all wrapped in freshly baked bread that comes straight from their ovens, a detail that stands out in the local scene. For those wanting a heartier plate, the mixed grill with skewers, rice, pickles, and fattoush salad offers a robust, well-balanced meal.

Vegetarian options like the falafel plate and vegetarian pies provide satisfying choices without fuss, making the spot approachable for a variety of diets. The weekend breakfast menu, featuring items like the Foul Bowl, hints at how this place serves as a reliable neighborhood option for different meals throughout the day.

Tarboosh’s vibe suits anyone looking to enjoy familiar Middle Eastern flavors in a welcoming, family-oriented environment. It works well for casual lunches or early dinners, especially if you want a low-key setting to explore authentic tastes without the usual embellishments found in trendier spots. The staff’s willingness to engage and explain the menu adds an inviting local touch for newcomers and longtime fans alike.

I stumbled upon this place while looking for a place for lunch. Tried their shawarma and falafel wraps. Absolutely delicious and tasty. It’s a family owned business. The owner is very friendly and answered all our requests. Great ambience and they have a cozy vibe. They have high seat for kids making it kids friendly and had clean washrooms. Definitely recommend this place if you are middle eastern food lover! Support #local :)

I absolutely love this place. It’s my only favorite Middle Eastern restaurant in town. They make everything super fresh including their OWN fresh out of the oven bread which most places don’t do! I usually order their mixed grill that comes with Fattoush Salad, hummus, pickles, rice or fries and their fresh bread. Perfect balance. The chicken is very juicy and the rice is perfectly cooked. In terms of seating, it’s a small restaurant so it’s good for groups upto 4 or less. Waiting is not there on regular hours. During the weekends, it does get busy. I really wish they would add Arabic style broasted/fried chicken on their menu as I’m a 100% confident it’s going to taste amazing.

Authentic lebanese flavors. Portions are huge. Will not put barbecue sauce on your shawarma don't bother asking (one more reason to give 5 stars). Vegetarian and vegan options available.

This is one of the friendliest restaurants I’ve been to in a long time. The two guys that I’ve dealt with were so kind and took time explaining the menu to me. I’ve come back three times already. Everything is so fresh and filling. A definite must try!

This place is the superstar of middle eastern food. We usually order chicken shawarma plate as takeout for our Friday evenings and the food is always top notch. Order your takeout ahead of time as they can get busy.

Absolutely delicious! The chicken shawarma meal with the in-store cooked pitas that come with the meals are amazing! The labne veggie wrap is humongous and so good! Great shawarmas, probably my 2nd favourite in the city behind only Kabobgy (who has the best garlic sauce) - So happy to have found this place!
